Balderton's 2019 People Summit
Peakon's COO, Patrick Cournoyer and Phil Chambers, CEO and co-founder

Peakon's COO, Patrick Cournoyer and Phil Chambers, CEO and co-founder speak at DreamTeams

This month, we brought together over 50 founders and CEOs from across Europe for our 2019 people leadership summit. People are at the centre of all successful businesses, so our aim was to create a forum for an open and frank discussion about the tough challenges and hard-earned lessons in leading teams.

Our speakers included Olympic gold medallists, leadership experts, HR leaders and CEOs of startups in the people space. They challenged our preconceptions on leadership, HR and employee engagement and brought us new insights on how the way we work is changing.

We will be publishing some of the content from the day over the next few months — but you can already read Kiana's view on what stood out here.

General Magic Movie – Private Screening

We were honoured to host a private screening of the multi-award winning feature documentary General Magic, followed by a Q&A with directors, Sarah Kerruish and Matt Maude.

This poignant documentary tells the story of secretive Silicon Valley startup which spun out of Apple in 1990 and became known as the 'greatest dead company' in the Valley. The General Magic team shipped the world's first “smartphone” in 1994, and while the company was commercially unsuccessful, it inspired many of the technologies that dominate our lives today.

We highly recommend watching this movie, to see an honest and compelling story told by, and about, a team of unique and visionary dreamers who truly embodied the Silicon Valley spirit.

You can pre-order the film here
